Cannon auto repair

There are several options available when it comes to brake repair.  As the components of the brake system start to wear out and fail, you will be looking at some form of brake replacement.  However, the most common and least costly brake repair is simply replacing the brake pad.

There are four main types of brake pads from which a vehicle owner can choose, described below:

  1. Non-metallic pads will feel softer when you brake, thus wearing out more quickly plus creating dust when you brake.
  2. The second option for brake replacement is the semi-metallic brake pad.  This brake pad is in the middle when it comes to the cost and durability of the brake pads. They have a harder feel so they are going to last longer.
  3. The third option for brake repair is the ceramic brake pads. These are the brake pads that you are going to want to get if you are wanting to upgrade your performance.  They are going to have better stopping power but they have a soft feel and are very quiet.  Of course, they are going to cost more money.
  4. The fourth option for brake replacement is the fully metallic brake pad.  Most of the time, these brake pads are going to be used for race cars.  They have a harder feel and are generally louder.  They can handle hard braking at the higher speeds of race cars.

There are four common causes for brake replacement:

  1. The pads might be worn out so they are no longer usable.
  2. There could be rust on the brake rotor.
  3. The driver brakes hard.  Most of the time, this is going to happen in a race car.
  4. The pads could have been in the car for a long period of time.
