Cannon auto repair

At times, it seems like an impossible task to diagnose car problems.  But the first time you start noticing something out of the ordinary, take the time to consider the problem and find a way to fix it.  Mechanical auto problems are usually accompanied with distinct sounds and sensations that are key indicators that something isn't functioning the way it was designed to.  Because transmissions work hard over a lot of miles, they are bound to start having problems. If small issues are ignored, the transmission repair will eventually be fairly costly.  So be on the alert for anything that seems unusual.

Here are 10 warning signs of transmission trouble to watch out:

  1. Refuses to go into Gear
  2. Burning Smell
  3. Noisy in Neutral
  4. Gears slipping
  5. Dragging clutch
  6. Leaking fluid
  7. Check Engine light
  8. Grinding or Shaking
  9. Whining, Clunking, or Humming
  10. Lack of Response

These majority of these problems are simply the result of low transmission fluid (the result of a leak), the wrong viscosity (thickness) of fluid, a needed adjustment of the shift cables or clutch linkage, or mechanical wear that will need the replacement of parts, such as a worn reverse idler gear or worn bearings, possibly coupled with worn gear teeth.  Even if your budget is tight, it is worth it to take care of a small transmission repair before it gets bigger and more costly.

Ask your transmission repair mechanic to run a diagnostic test to identify any pending problems that you may not even be able to feel or see.
