Cannon auto repair

Summer is over and the cooler days of fall have arrived! After summer’s hot temperatures, make sure your vehicle is ready for the cold days of winter. Whether you just need a reliable vehicle to get you to work and back, or you’re going to taking a trip with the family for the holidays, call your auto center for an inspection of your vehicle. The mechanics at your auto service center will look for any hidden problems and make sure that your vehicle is ready for the road, especially for rainy or icy conditions.

Your auto service center asks you to consider these five safe-driving tips:

  1. Keep up with the recommended vehicle maintenance schedule: Check the condition of the fluids (oil, brake, transmission, steering, etc.) and top off as needed. Check the brakes, battery and alternator, lights (interior and exterior), and wiper blades and replace worn-out parts as needed.
  2. Check the condition of the tires: Inspect your tires for signs of excessive tread wear and make sure each tire has the right air pressure. Have your tires rotated about every 5,000 to 6,000 miles, especially if you will be going on a road trip adding a lot of miles? Buy new tires if your old ones have become too worn to maintain your car’s grip on the road.
  3. Clean out your car: For a more comfortable ride, keep your car fresh and clean, such as using all-weather floor mats, keeping the windows and lights clean. For better fuel economy, take extra weight out of the trunk and backseat.
  4. Carry a roadside emergency kit: This should include blankets, snacks, water, jack and spare tire, jumper cables, flares, and cell phone charger.
  5. Inspect the radiator and hoses: Make sure the ratio of coolant and water is adequate for hot temperatures, and that the hoses have no cracks or bulges.

Of course, even with all these precautions, something unexpected can still happen. But, you will have confidence in your car knowing that your auto shop has done everything it could to make sure you are driving as safe as possible down the road.
