Cannon auto repair

Most parts of the country are still experiencing the high temperatures of summer. Because your car’s AC has been working hard for a while now, it might be smart to schedule an inspection of the AC so that it keeps functioning properly as we start to approach the cooler days of fall. In addition to the normal wear and tear of daily use, the AC unit is constantly exposed to the extreme heat of the engine, road debris and dirt, hard stops, and possibly hitting a curb or other obstacle on the road.

What does a car AC service include, you ask? Because of the advances in technology and the complexity of air conditioning systems in today’s vehicles, it is important that you have a certified car AC repair technician service your car’s AC.

If your air conditioner is not working properly and is blowing hot air, there are two important things to have your car AC repair technician check out:

  • The level of coolant in the radiator may be too low and it may need to be topped off.
  • The compressor may be clogged or blocked, which means the pressurized refrigerant will decompress or there is not a high enough pressure in it to cool the refrigerant.
  • Check for small cracks or loose connections, allowing the refrigerant to leak.

Your auto shop should have the equipment to test how much pressure is in the compressor, indicating if it is still working properly, or if it simply needs to be flushed.

Remember: Before winter arrives schedule a car AC repair so that your vehicle can also keep you warm this coming winter.

Still, wondering about what does a car AC service include? Contact our ASE Certified Technicians at Cannon Auto Repair today for more information about car AC repair and to schedule an appointment. Our auto shop serves vehicle owners in Cannon Falls, MN, and the surrounding areas.
