Cannon auto repair

Summer is just around the corner. It's time to get your vehicle ready for hot summer temperatures with basic automotive repair, have your A/C system inspected to make sure it is functioning at its peak performance level when the temperatures are soaring. This will give you peace of mind as you hit the road this summer knowing that your vehicle will keep you cool and safe. High temperatures are not only harmful to our human bodies but also provide unnecessary wear and tear on a vehicle.

A typical inspection of the A/C during an automotive service should include:

  • Hoses, lines, seals and other components are visually inspected for leaks as well as the drive belt inspected for cracks or damage.
  • Pressures are checked to test operation, refrigerant charge, and outlet temperatures.
  • If the level of refrigerant is too low, a leak test should be performed to find the source of the leak. If your vehicle is leaking refrigerant, it is not only damaging to the vehicle, but also to the environment.
  • The refrigerant may be added it may be necessary to "top off" the refrigerant level. The A/C system should also be checked for evidence of refrigerant cross-contamination (the mixing of refrigerants).
  • Automotive service of the air conditioner should also include a check of the compressor's drive belt and tension.

A vehicle's heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems (HVAC) keep the interior cabin comfortable by providing the right temperature and humidity level.
